Wednesday November 6th/2019

Yesterday in my sound design class, we went over how to gate sound. We used a clip from The Office and made sure that only a certain level of noise came out of the clip. This means that when the clip is showing no signs of voices, the clip will be dead silent and you won’t hear white noise. For me, it was a bit of a struggle to find a good balance, so that the sound wasn’t choppy, but in the end I figured it out! When class was almost over and we finished this assignment, we went over our next assignment. In this assignment, we will be using a clip from Pirates of the Caribbean and creating our own sounds to recreate the clip! I’ll have another story on that when I get more into it!
